Christmas Edition: 5 Winter Wonderlands

Since Christmas is here, today I've made a post for those of you who choose to spend this special day of the year in the world of SL. Of course the Destination Guide is a perfect tool to choose a place to visit today, but I went further and made my own selection of 5 favorite places I visited. They're all loaded with beautiful sceneries, props, poses and seats. Enjoy!

This beautiful scenery is placed in the middle of snowy nature, loaded with lots and lots of props and animated seats which you can use for winter photo sessions. You can go for a sleigh ride, play with the animals, skate or just relax in one of the many places where you can just sit and admire the beauty around you. There are also small houses with adorable furniture and cozy fireplaces where you can relax on your own or with your significant other. All in all, it is an ideal destination for a day of winter fun.

This one is for those who love a little bit of darkness in their life... well maybe a little more darkness. This eerie place has a very dim light and a monochromatic aspect, making it look dreamy and fantasy-ish. With myself being on this side of "darkness", I absolutely loved this place. You can find a nice old bar, a beach, ski slopes, zip lines, romantic spots and caverns. Ideal for a gothic winter photoshoot or maybe a romantic date with your loved one. This place is unique and I highly recommend checking it out.

Ever since I was little, I would always get super excited around Christmas, knowing that the city will turn into an explosion of light and colors. This thing carries on to Second Life and I found myself being mesmerized with this colorful park. You can go for a balloon ride to see the scenery from above, go skating on the huge frozen lake, chill at the local pub, ski, sled or just hang out with your friends or loved one while admiring the view. This place will surely put you in a Christmasy mood if you're not already feeling it!

This countryside Winter Wonderland will take your breath away with the beautiful, realistic looking surroundings. Small wooden countryside houses, swings, tables and lots of places where you can relax together with friends or your loved one, while sharing the experience of viewing the beauty around yourselves. If you really want to feel like you're in a rural snowy area, visit this place and you won't regret it!

Our last stop today but certainly not the least fun sim we visited, is the Boom Winter Wonderland. Another picturesque scenery filled with fun activities and spots where you can relax and hang out with the ones you love. You can ride snowmobiles, skate, dance and a whole lot more. They even have a fairy big pub, filled with adorable decorations. And I heard they have a party every Wednesday night, so make sure to check them out whenever you can!

Club Retro

Today, we go back in time and visit a club where the tunes rocking the place are from the 60's, 70's and 80's, so if you're feeling nostalgic or you're simply into retro music, this is the place for you! Classic rock, hard rock, metal, punk and much more! The events are held by experienced DJ's and entertaining, friendly hosts who keep the chat going all day and all night long. Just take over the dance floor and show us your moves! There is also a stage, so keep an eye on the events and make sure you make it to the live concerts.

If you don't feel like dancing, there is A LOT to do around. You can hang out with your friends on the comfy couches, on the floor, at a table or maybe have a drink at one of the bars while listening to music and chatting away with the awesome people around you. There are also games to play with your friends, as well as a full marina, with fishing! So whatever you like doing in your free time on SL, there's a huge chance you will find here what you need, while listening to the awesome tunes.

But the sim has much more to offer! There is also a mall if you feel like going on a shopping spree, and amazing homes you can buy, which come along with a low price tag and tons of perks. I won't ruin all the surprises, but one obvious thing is that you only have to step outside, on the balcony, and you have a 24/7 party going on in your backyard! How awesome is that?

Woods Club

Today we go clubbing in Second Life, and we find this amazing place called the Woods Club. It first opened its gates in 2008 and at this moment it's one of the most popular dance clubs in Second Life. The sim is absolutely packed with tons of people who are having a blast. The genres you can find here are House, Electro, Techno, Hip Hop, Dubstep, Brakes, Tech House, Afro/Tribal House & Soulfu. So what is this special about this club? The techno tunes brought by Live DJs and the experience of being able to connect to so many people who share your love for music in an unique way. Fridays and Saturdays are all techno, so if you're a big fan of this genre, don't miss this place!

The live events take place from 8am to 8pm Tues-Thurs & 10am-10pm Fri-Sun, with Live DJs and fun, friendly hosts who do their best to make everyone feel welcome and have a great time. The crowd is hyped and the chat is always active, so you can make new friends while dancing and having a blast. How great is that? I honestly feel like I just came back from a night out clubbing after spending some time in this place. The screenshots are self-explanatory.

One nice touch I've encountered, at the entrance they even have merch: Cute clothes and headphones with the club logo!

So give it a try and you will love it! I'm not even that much into techno and I'm already hooked to Wood Club. Just everything about it makes me want to spend more time here. Club Industry

Today we immerse ourselves into the dark scene, where we find a very popular location, in a cyberpunk/industrial building with futuristic influences: Club Industry. This is an unique club in the world of Second Life, dating ever since 2006 and still going strong today. The music you can find here is mainly Industrial, Goth, Darkwave, New Wave, 80s, EBM, Synthpop Noize, Aggrotech, Electro, Futurepop, Techno, Trance, with LIVE DJ's (some of them real life DJs) along with an experienced, fun and entertaining Host to keep the party going.

The club as you can see from the screenshots is packed, and I must say I've seen here some of the most outstanding outfits and styles. The chat is very active and super friendly. Anyone is welcome and quickly introduced into the big family of Club Industry. All in all, I had a great evening here and I will definitely visit again.
